Bryce Harper, last year’s number one overall pick by the Washington Nationals, is in trouble. The outfield prospect who plays for the Class A Hagerstown Suns, hit a home run, flipped his bat, trotted around the bases, and then blew a kiss to Greensboro Grasshoppers pitcher Zach Neal after rounding third. In less than 24 hours, according to the Nats Enquirer blog, t-shirts have appeared with the saying “Dropping Bombs, Blowing Kisses.” This is the stuff that raises a player from ordinary to legendary. (Or, at least, it gives someone a chance to make a quick buck.) Is it really any surprise that during Harper’s next at bat, relief pitcher Grant Dayton threw at him, backing Harper off the plate? Bryce that’s the way the game is played.
