Javy Vasquez tied a major league record last night by hitting three consecutive batters. The New York Yankees’ right-hander is now one of only eight pitchers to ever accomplish such an illustrious feat. Needless to say, the Bronx faithful were not amused as the Yanks were getting drubbed by the Rays 10-3, in a game that pulled Tampa Bay to within a half-game of New York for the NL East lead. Prior to Thursday night, Vasquez only hit four batters this season.
