The Colorado Rockies and pitcher Aaron Cook were cruising toward their six straight victory, when Cincinnati Reds first baseball Joey Votto crushed a sharp one-hopper off Cook’s lower right leg. Even though the Rockies won 9-2, Cook may be lost for the season after x-rays revealed a fracture in his leg. This has to be considered a major disappointment for Rox Manager Jim Tracy and Cook, who notched back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Cook was scheduled to start Game 1 of a pivotal series against the division-leading San Diego Padres in Denver Monday night. Instead, Jeff Francis will get the call. Good luck with that.
